All the instrumental tracking has been recorded for the album. We're not sure if we've made gold or it's simply just a bunch of noise. We'll need to lay down the vocals and do some rough mixes before we'll really know.

So, now we just need Ryan to sing some songs. But first, we need to find him...

The fifth song of the EP album is tracked and all that's left is the vocals. It's a cover song and, if things go as planned, this song will help with the title of the EP.

After a month off we've rewritten a song for the EP that just never seemed quite right. But, things are back on track and the fourth song of the new album is nearly done!

The third song of our six song debut EP has been tracked and, musically, is done. All it needs now is some vocals, some mixing, some mastering, and it will be ready for your ears to listen to it.

It's called "I Know."

And for as much as I tried to make the song into some sort of political, rebellious, high brow kind of thing, in the end, the song became what it wanted to be...what it had always been...since the moment I came up with it.

It became (and stayed) a song about sex.

Oh well.

Second song of the EP is tracked. We even got a lot of cool radio sound effects into the mix by simply holding the microphone close to the dial on the cloudhopper.

The tracking process on the new EP album continues. We got caught up on one song that just wasn't sounding right when we put electric guitars on it. The acoustic demo we did sounds great but once we layered guitars on top of it it just sounded like a bunch of noise. But, Ryan and I bashed it out, figured out some new parts, and it's now sounding really great.

Personally, I'm looking forward to getting this tracking done and getting some of these songs finished so we can get them out there into the world.

Work on the new OilCan Drive EP album is going really well. The drums and bass of the rhythm section is done so Henry and I are taking it easy in the studio and watching the boys argue over guitar parts. Ryan has most of his rhythm parts tracked and Vincent has gone through and accentuated them.

Now we get to watch them argue over which one gets to play the lead guitar riffs.

This should be interesting.

Welcome to the new OilCan Drive web page.

For too long this page has lain dormant, always promising that new stuff will be coming soon. It promised new art work, albums, and music. But, nothing ever came.

Well, after four years of letting it sit like that I finally wanted to do something about it. And while the site isn't perfect at the moment (there are still a few too many 'coming soons' for my taste) this new layout should at least be something new.

The homepage is up and the blog is rolling. The MUSIC section, while still a little rough, at least works. In the future there will be multiple albums that you can choose and listen to in the custom made OilCan Drive Interweb Reader. There will be album artwork, track listings, and info about each album as well. But, for now, there are a few Bob Dylan covers up that the band did back in 2009. They really hope you enjoy them.

In the coming days and weeks I'll start tackling all those pesky 'coming soon' pages and upload even more art and music. There is a ton of stuff sitting in the OilCan Drive vault and I hope to put most of it up on this site. And, when I can get it going, there will be an online store to purchase music downloads, CDs, comic books, custom toys, and artwork.

Just be patient. It will happen soon.

And I promise it won't take four years.
